Troubleshooting
Tips
Issue:
No Resident Payors Found
You process charges for residents and receive an exception report
for a resident that states "No resident payors found."
Solution:
This exception generally means that the payor is not set up in the
resident's payor screen or their begin and end dates are not set
up correctly. Go into the resident's payor screen to ensure the
appropriate payor(s) are set up correctly. The beginning day must
be on or before the day the item is being charged and the end date
must be set to 12/31/9999. If you edit the beginning date, you must
Process Charge the resident again. Once the dates are corrected,
you should no longer receive this exception.

Issue:
Problems Creating UB04 Claims
When attempting to create Part A UB04s for this resident, an error
pops up stating "no claims created."
Consider
the following example - Your facility has a resident on a Medicaid
care level. The resident goes to the hospital for a short time,
and arrives back to the facility with a Part A new qualifying stay.
The resident's census is updated to reflect the new payor and there
are no overt problems when processing charges. However, when attempting
to create Part A UB04s for this resident, the system gives a pop-up
error "no claims created."
Solution:
In order to create UB04 claims for Medicare A, residents must have
room charges booked to the Part A payor. If anything in the resident's
setup prevents room charges from booking to Part A, the system will
not create a UB04 for that resident.
For
the example above, you should run the resident account report for
the month in question. This report might show that the resident's
room charges booked to Medicaid instead of Medicare A. Closer reveiw
of the census would reveal that the resident was mistakenly left
on a Medicaid care level.
When
the system processes charges, the bed type, care level and payor
must be configured with rates for the timeframe in question.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Issue:
TX Applied Income
Applied income does not bill for 12/2008 for my TX Medicaid resident.
Problem:
As of 12/2008, QuickCare is programmed to process bill for RUGs
only. If a resident does not have an MDS completed for 12/2008,
the room charges will not bill. This will also keep the applied
income from billing. Once a new MDS is completed for 12/2008, the
applied income will also bill to the resident.

Helpful
Checklists
Closing
the Month in QuickCare
Month end close can be a stressful time in your office and, when
added to your daily responsibilities, the task can seem overwhelming.
To get the maximum benefit from your QuickCare Software, months
should be reconciled and closed in a timely manner. To make the
task a little easier, our training team created a reference document/checklist,
downloadable from our website at http://www.quickcare.com/QCMonthEndChecklist.pdf.
Medicare
Billing
Sometimes billing for Medicare can seem overwhelming. There are
so many rules and regulations to follow, it can seem a bit overwhelming
at times. We've created an easy-to-follow form to help you in this
process, downloadable from our website at http://www.quickcare.com/QC-TripleCheckForm.pdf.
As always, please call our Client Support hotline at 800-259-7633
with any questions you may have.

New
Client Portal Coming Soon!
As you know, MDI Achieve launched a new website, www.mdiachieve.com,
to cover our complete product line back in May 2008. However, we
have maintained our existing QuickCare site and web portal until
the new site is completely functional for all product lines. In
2009, we will replace the QuickCare site with a brand new client
portal on our MDI Achieve website. All users will need to register
with a new Web ID (username and password) for access to this new
client portal.
While
the new portal is not yet ready for launch, pre-registration is
available. You can go ahead and set up your new Web ID by logging
on to http://clients.mdiachieve.com.
Simply complete the form with your personal identification information,
select the MDI Achieve products you currently use, and create your
username and password, along with a security question that will
allow you to retrieve a forgotten password. We'll send you a special
notification when the new portal is open for business.
If
you have any questions or have problems registering, please call
800-869-1322, x 9853.
